If you are in Qatar on an occupational or vocational training arrangement, you are covered by specific provisions under Qatar's Labour Law. Under Article 14, your training contract must be in writing and must clearly specify the profession being trained, the duration of the training, and the consecutive stages involved — along with the financial benefits you will receive during the training period.
Under Article 15, the training contract must be produced in three copies: one for you, one for the employer, and one submitted to the Department for registration and approval. This formal registration is important as it gives your contract official recognition and legal enforceability.
Your employer does have the right to terminate the training contract early in certain circumstances under Article 16 — for example, if it is proven you are unfit for the profession, or if you breach the terms of the contract. After completing your training, Article 17 allows both parties to mutually agree for you to transition into regular employment with the same employer. If you are under 18, note that Article 13 requires a custodian or trustee to represent you when signing the contract.
