According to Article 14 of Qatar's Domestic Workers Law (Law No. 15 of 2017), a domestic worker is entitled to three weeks (21 days) of paid annual leave for every year completed in service. Importantly, the worker has the right to decide how to divide that leave, when to take it, and where to spend it.
This means as an employer, you cannot unilaterally dictate the exact timing without the worker's agreement. Open communication about scheduling leave in advance is strongly recommended to avoid conflict, especially if your household depends on the worker's presence during certain periods.
If a domestic worker leaves before completing a full year of service, they may still be entitled to a proportional leave balance. Keep in mind that denying a worker their lawful annual leave is a violation of the law and can result in a fine of up to 5,000 Qatari Riyals under Article 21.
