Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law gives you a clear right to access your own data. Under Article 6, you can approach any Controller — such as a bank, employer, telecom provider, or retailer — at any time and request to review the personal data they hold about you. You are also entitled to be notified about what data is being processed and for what purpose.
When making a request, it is best to do so in writing (email or formal letter) and clearly state that you are exercising your rights under Law No. 13 of 2016. Include identification details so the company can locate your records. The company is obligated to respond, though the specific procedures and timelines are governed by a Ministerial decision as referenced in Article 7.
If a company refuses to give you access to your data, note that under Article 20, they may in limited circumstances withhold reasons for refusal — for example, if disclosure would interfere with a legal investigation. However, this is the exception, not the rule. If you feel your access rights are being unfairly denied, you can escalate the matter to the Ministry of Transport and Communications as the Competent Authority.
